About us
The Cassovia Medi Valley cluster is an association of activities performed by entities based in the Eastern Slovakia Region, including universities, research institutions, healthcare facilities, domestic and foreign businesses as well as regional self-government authorities, with a compact vision of participating in the development of science and research in the Eastern Slovakia Region. The cluster hence represents a joint initiative of educational institutions, self-government authorities and renowned business companies that operate in the field of medicine, cosmetics and the pharmaceutical industry.
We are a cluster,
with a primary goal to coordinate research, scientific, developmental and innovation activities performed by all entities engaged in our regional partnership. Our goal is to become a national cluster for the field of medicine, pharmacy and cosmetics and to provide complex developmental and innovation services in the Slovak and European markets, and hence rank among successful national and European research networks.
A long-term intention of our cluster is to perform highly professional activities aimed at supporting intraregional collaboration among universities, hospitals, the town of Košice, the Košice Self-Governing Region, as well as renowned business companies, all with the aim of making the region more attractive for potential investors and create conditions for effective business.

Representatives of our members
actively participate in the preparation and sharing of relevant documents, and while considering the cluster’s priorities, their role is to join the manufacturing companies and provide them with high-quality technical, material, personnel and organisational structure. In the Cassovia Medi Valley cluster, we try to motivate students of medical, pharmaceutical, natural-sciences and technical study programmes at partner universities to actively apply their knowledge and skills to the work performed for scientific and research companies operating in the biomedical, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. All this results in increasing the quality of science and research in the Eastern Slovakia Region, and hence increasing the added value of the region in terms of its scientific and research activities. As a result, the region become more competitive and creates more job opportunities.
The Cassovia Medi Valley cluster
is also an accelerator of building a regional innovative partnership, since through our highly professional activities we strive to ensure active interregional collaboration among universities, hospitals, the town of Košice, the Košice Self-Governing Region, as well as domestic and foreign business companies, with the aim to make the region more attractive for potential investors, and hence create a place where it is worth doing business and live, and contribute by the initiative of its members to increasing the scope and accessibility of the scientific and research environment.

What is Cassovia Medi Valley?
Cassovia Medi Valley (CMV) is a cluster of subjects based in the Eastern Slovakia Region; it includes universities, research institutions, healthcare facilities, enterprises and regional self-government authorities. CMV's primary concern is to coordinate research, scientific, developmental and innovation activities performed by entities engaged in a regional partnership. CMV facilitates creating a new level of sustainable regional cooperation among highly successful organisations that share the vision of transforming the town of Košice and the Košice Self-Governing Region into a scientific, research and innovation area with an ambition to achieve the level of its national, European and global partners. The key idea of the cluster is to become a centre for the support and application of knowledge and information possessed by the young generation in the field of medicine, pharmacy and cosmetics.
